Job Summary
The role of the Accountant - Payment Systems Operations is to prepare journal entries, maintain balance sheet schedules, ledgers, account, and bank reconciliations. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with monthly closings and account analysis.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborating with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data.
- Comparing system reports to balances and verifying entries.
- Verifying vendor accounts, paying vendors, and resolving payment discrepancies.
- Reconciling account transactions with the general ledger.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Complete general ledger operations.
- Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare analysis of accounts as requested.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
- Assist with year-end closings.
Education
B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of financial principles and reporting.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances, and taxation.
- Technical accounting skills.
- Previous experience of general accounting.
- Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position works primarily indoors in a climate-controlled environment with minimal exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels and environmental changes are typically low and predictable.
