Job Description

Description

Job Summary:

The primary function is to be trained into the essential job functions of a CAC. The purpose of this position is to assist with managing and developing clinical software applications and facilitate training of clinical staff for the entire range of application packages relating to the Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) and Electronic Health Record (EHR). First Tier IT support when needed. All duties and responsibilities will be performed in accordance with the Yellowhawk Mission and Vision statement.

Essential Job Functions:

General IT Support Responsibilities

1. Respond to and manage incoming requests through the helpdesk ticketing system.

2. Diagnose, adjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning equipment; escalate issues to Tier 2 support when appropriate.

3. Install, configure, and maintain a wide range of software/hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and related technologies.

4. Install and support both standard and specialized software applications.

5. Prepare surplus or decommissioned equipment for proper disposal.

6. Inventory, document, and track new equipment upon arrival.

CAC apprentice- will receive cross-training in a broad range of clinical systems duties and may assist with any of the functions listed.

13. New user setup in clinical systems.

14. Implementation, and training of clinical system across facility.

15. Assist with reporting or other clinical reporting needed.

16. Timely EHR software troubleshooting on-demand.

17. Training staff on changes associated with patch installations.

18. Assemble and monitor input and feedback from staff and programs who utilize clinical applications to identify areas of improvement.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Associates degree (or equivalent or higher) in related technology field and 2 years experience OR

Currently pursuing a degree in an allied health field or otherwise preparing for a career in healthcare, with 4 years experience working with medical documents and knowledge of basic office equipment OR

High School Diploma with training in medical field with 4 years experience working with medical documents and knowledge of basic office equipment

2. Comp TIA A+ certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire. 

3. Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days.

4. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.

5. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel.

6. Demonstrated excellent customer service experience in a fast-paced help desk or customer contact environment.

7. Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

8. Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain insurance requirements to operate General Services Administration vehicles.

9. Must submit to and pass a reference and criminal background check. 

10. Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of common information technologies and systems preferred.

2. Experience working in a Tribal Healthcare setting preferred.
