Job Description

Pricing Excellence Manager

Do you want to join an ambitious Pricing & Contract Excellence team and support driving pricing excellence in a global company?

The position

We are looking for a Pricing Excellence Manager to join the Pricing & Contract Excellence team at HBK. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the transformation of pricing capabilities globally, with a strong focus on driving adoption of pricing software and supporting the transition to SAP S/4, while ensuring pricing governance and commercial insight are embedded into daily business decisions.

This role is well suited for a candidate with solid commercial or pricing experience who enjoys working at the intersection of business, systems, and change. Rather than focusing on pure price administration, the role emphasizes transformation, cross-functional orchestration, and translation of pricing strategy into execution, while remaining hands-on during the system transition phase.

The position is based in HBK’s office in Porto, Portugal, as a hybrid work model.

Primary responsibilities

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Support the development and execution of global pricing strategies, translating strategic intent into operational processes and governance

  • Play a key role in the transformation of pricing capabilities, including:

    • Supporting the transition to SAP S/4

    • Driving implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of pricing software

  • Lead cross-functional pricing initiatives across Sales, Finance, IT, Product Management, and Business Intelligence, driving adoption of new pricing tools, processes, and ways of working.

  • Design and embed price setting and discount governance frameworks, including guardrails, escalation logic, and decision rights

  • Provide advanced pricing analytics and commercial insights to support better decision-making

  • Support data validation, testing, and stabilization activities during the transition phase, working hands-on with pricing data and system logic when required

  • Serve as a key interface between pricing, ERP systems, and pricing software, ensuring alignment between business rules and system configuration

  • Continuously feed insights from implementation and day-to-day usage into process, governance, and capability improvements

Professional qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Project Management, or a related field

  • 3–6+ years of experience from pricing/commercial excellence, commercial functions, consulting, or project-driven roles in large organizations

  • Solid understanding of B2B pricing and discounting principles

  • Experience driving change initiatives, system implementations, or cross-functional projects

  • Ability to translate strategy into execution through structured processes and governance

  • Strong analytical skills, with advanced Excel and solid PowerPoint capabilities

  • Experience with SAP (ECC and/or S/4), pricing tools, or CRM systems such as Salesforce is an advantage

Personal skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, motivate, and align stakeholders through change

  • Comfortable working in transformation environments with ambiguity and change

  • Hands-on, pragmatic mindset with willingness to “get into the details” when needed

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across seniority levels

  • Structured, curious, and motivated by continuous improvement

  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
