Soil Field Technician


We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Soil Field Technician to join our environmental team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to important soil analysis projects and environmental assessments. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fieldwork, environmental science, and data collection, supporting our mission to promote sustainable land use and soil health.


Key Responsibilities:

- Collect soil samples from designated field sites following established protocols

- Record and document sample locations, conditions, and other relevant data accurately

- Prepare soil samples for laboratory analysis, including labeling and preservation

- Operate and maintain field equipment such as soil augers, GPS devices, and sampling tools

- Assist in conducting on-site soil surveys and environmental assessments

- Ensure safety procedures are followed during all field activities

- Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met


Skills and Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in environmental science, geology, or related fields preferred

- Prior experience in soil sampling, environmental fieldwork, or related activities is a plus

- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- Basic knowledge of GPS technology and data recording tools is advantageous
