Job Description

You'll get to work on a team of TEMPEST engineers and SMEs performing TEMPEST testing and providing TEMPEST engineering recommendations to help ensure the security of our nation's systems . You'll get to work onsite with the customer, integrated into their team to ensure mission success.

The devices we us daily, emit RF signals. While these emissions are typically designed to stay within the device and communicate with other devices, they can inadvertently leak sensitive data if not adequately managed. This concept forms a crucial aspect of TEMPEST, as it addresses not only the intentional interception of RF signals, but also the potential vulnerabilities arising from the unintentional release of these signals

In lieu of 3 years of TEMPEST Testing experience, if your candidate has the below minimum experience and is fully cleared with current CI poly under 6 yrs, please feel free to submit. * Note, candidate will also be required to obtain CTP II certification after starting.

  • At least 2-3 years required -RF, Electrical Engineering, or EEE experience : Understanding how digital devices generate unintentional emissions and designing countermeasures such as shielding, filtering, and grounding.
  • At least 2-3 years required - Schematic Reading & Analysis: Proficiency in interpreting circuit diagrams is crucial for pinpointing potential emission sources and planning the placement of shielding or filters.

Capabilities / Duties:

  • Ensure that TEMPEST testing requirements are defined by the customer's Certified TEMPEST Technical Authority (CTTA).
  • Evaluate engineering change proposal (ECP) packages to ensure the proposed changes do not impact the TEMPEST integrity of the device, or if necessary, additional TEMPEST testing is performed to recertify the device.
  • Attend technical meetings with crypto device users/customers CSCM's and vendor partners.
  • Provide TEMPEST lab testing of certified cryptographic devices to ensure it meets the current National TEMPEST standard.
  • Perform TEMPEST Field testing of cryptographic equipment to discover vulnerabilities in secure systems.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support when a cryptographic device has a TEMPEST vulnerability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Certified TEMPEST Professional Level II (CTP-II)
  • 3+ years of experience with TEMPEST testing, and/or TEMPEST manufacturing

PREFERRED

  • Military or IC experience in a relevant technical or RF field is preferred.

TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
