- Assist the principal in planning and administering the procedures necessary to maintain pupil discipline in all phases of the school program.
- Supervise pupils referred for disciplinary detention and/or in-school suspension.
- Share, with the principal, supervision of extra-curricular activities, e.g. choir, through attendance and participation in those functions.
- Assist the principal in the preparation of in-service meetings.
- Assist the principal in the preparation of comprehensive building schedules.
- Prepare ancillary schedules for programs, assemblies and trips.
- Prepare schedules for in-school, mid day study periods.
- Assist the principal and teachers in the interpretation of test data to parents.
- Assist teachers in the preparation of referrals to the Department of Human Capital, Equity & Inclusion.
- Assist the principal in maintaining current inventories of texts and related educational materials.
- Collate information for publications to be disseminated to the school community.
- Assist the principal and teachers in the orientation of student teachers assigned to the building.
- Assist the principal and teachers in coordinating the activities of field experience students.
- Serve as a member of the PTA.
- Perform the related duties assigned by the principal.
- Display knowledge of current educational literature, curriculum trends, and research data.
- He/She must have the ability to communicate this formation to staff members.

Description: Manages classroom and implements appropriate programs, develops Individual Education Programs (IEPs), conducts and participates in team meetings and parent conferences, supervises classroom assistants and volunteers, liaison with juvenile court officers and other children's protection agencies

The job of Secondary Assistant Principal - was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process with specific responsibility for directing assigned programs and services at a secondary school; providing information and serving as a resource to others; supervising assigned staff; coordinating school activities and addressing issues, situations and/or problems that arise on campus or with enrolled students.

Qualifications:
• Master's degree (M.A.) from an accredited college or university
• Appropriate State of Ohio building principal certification/license
• OTES 2.0 credentialed prior to evaluating teachers
• Evidence of three years or more of successful teaching experience in a public school setting
