Job Description

At Richmond Community Services (RCS), person-centered practice is not a philosophy on paper—it is how we honor dignity, choice, and meaningful lives every day. We are seeking an experienced, visionary Director of Person-Centered Services to lead, strengthen, and evolve our clinical and recreational services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This is a high-impact leadership role for a clinical professional who understands how to translate person-centered values into strong systems, excellent documentation, regulatory compliance, and exceptional outcomes for the people we support.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic oversight and clinical leadership to QIDPs, Behavioral Intervention Specialists (BIS), and Recreation staff

  • Strengthen person-centered systems, policies, training, and practices across Residential and Clinical Services

  • Ensure timely, accurate completion and submission of all compliance documentation, including CFAs, Goals & Objectives, and Protective Oversight Plans

  • Monitor service delivery and documentation to ensure alignment with state regulations, agency standards, and person-centered principles

  • Conduct site visits to assess quality, compliance, and effectiveness of services

  • Partner with Workforce Development to enhance training and support new hire orientation on person-centered services

  • Oversee and elevate recreational services, ensuring programming promotes meaningful engagement, independence, socialization, and community inclusion

  • Guide the development of individualized recreation plans aligned with interests, abilities, and life goals

  • Coach, mentor, and support clinical staff through team meetings, case reviews, and ongoing training

  • Collaborate with internal leaders, families, advocates, consultants, and community partners to ensure coordinated, person-centered supports

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on person-centered services and evidence-based practices

  • Actively participate in Human Rights, Individual Safety, and agency committees

  • Model and uphold the mission, vision, and values of RCS in all decision-making and interactions

What You Bring

  • Master’s degree in a health-related field (required)

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience providing services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities

  • At least three (3) years of management or supervisory experience in a clinical or human services setting

  • Strong experience with person-centered planning and positive behavioral supports

  • Demonstrated ability to support individuals with complex needs, including dual diagnoses, behavioral health challenges, and brain injuries

  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and systems-thinking skills

  • Ability to build strong relationships with staff, families, and external partners

  • Strong commitment to the mission, values, and rights of people supported

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for travel between agency sites
