TITLE: Instructional Aide Middle School, Long-Term Substitiute                  

 

LOCATION:      Dr. Kevin M. Hurley Middle School    

 

RATE OF PAY: Salary range of $15.20 to $21.90 per hour 

 

 

The instructional aide assists teachers and/or building administrators in the supervision and instruction of students in the classroom during instructional periods and through the school environment as determined by the principal or designee.

 

Reports to: Building Principal/Assistant Principal

 

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must minimally have the following:

1. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults


2. Demonstrated ability to work well with teachers, students, and administrators


3. One of the following:




1. A Bachelor’s Degree


2. An Associate’s Degree


3. A passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment

 

Responsibilities & Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:

1. Supports students in classroom learning.


2. Under the supervision of a certified teacher, prepare for classroom activities.


3. Assist in preparing class displays/bulletin boards and caring for equipment.


4. Assist in duties relating to the supervision of the playground, study hall, cafeteria, bus loading, etc.


5. Participate in in-service training programs when appropriate.


6. Perform other related duties as assigned by the building principal.
