Job Description

Job Summary:

Bongards’ Creameries is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Mechanic based out of our Humboldt facility. The maintenance mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing cheese-making machinery in a high-speed production environment. Responsibilities also include installing and modifying related systems in the facility as a whole.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and diagnose equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform preventative maintenance on conveyors, wrappers, packaging equipment, AGV, GIA, FANUC Robots
  • Find root cause in defective equipment
  • Install parts (new or refurbished) on various types of equipment
  • Able to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electronic equipment (24v DC, 120v AC to 480v 3phase AC)  
  • Record repairs made and inventory used
  • Clean and lubricate moving components 
  • Performs work on machines according to Preventative Maintenance Schedule
  • Maintains detailed log of work completed, materials used, time spent, etc.
  • Must report all Food Safety and quality concerns to immediate supervisor or designated replacement
  • Must be comfortable to work indoor/outdoor, cold/warm environments, crawl spaces and elevated areas
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent Math and Reading skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Electrical experience with 24v DC, and 120vAC up to 480V 3 phase highly desired
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of Ladder Logic, Allen Bradley PLCs
  • Knowledge of Schematics
  • Knowledge of LOTO Procedures
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Previous maintenance experience in a production/manufacturing environment preferred
  • Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, other quality guidelines
  • Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or designated replacement
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
  • Ability to spend long periods of time standing

Schedule:

  • Night Shift 6:00pm to 6:00am Following a 2-2-3 schedule
