 We are looking for motivated Retail Sales Agents who are passionate about providing a fantastic and informative retail sales experiences to our guests, and who can share the excitement of having Aoraki/Mt Cook as the ultimate adventure playground!  

Our Retail Sales team look after the retail and activities center at the Hermitage and support guests and day visitors to the area who are looking to purchase and enjoy our products and experiences, including Glacier Experience boat trips, Star Gazing, and Guided trips, as well as our Panorama Restaurant.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Upselling our Panorama restaurant, activities experiences (Guided trips), and retail products, plus support guests to enjoy them.
  • Greet and interact with all customers and aid as required, including checking them in for activities such as Glacier Explorers, Trekking and Stargazing.
  • Assist with the processing of stock deliveries and shop floor replenishment in line with our merchandising standards.
  • Keeping the sales points, shop floor, and display areas, clean and tidy.
  • Ensuring that all security procedures are followed in relation to cash, keys, guest security and privacy.
  • Supporting the community to collect their post and parcels.
  • Handling requests and complaints, deferring to the Manager/Supervisor when necessary.

What you will bring to the role: 

  • You will have a background in retail or selling experiences, with the ability to build rapport with the guests and determine future needs.
  • Previous experience in a customer facing position is required, ideally within the retail or hospitality industry. 
  • Front desk and guest service experience is beneficial.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Excellent attention to detail and standards
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and remain composed under pressure.

The benefits:  

  • Full Time, Fixed term, Minimum 60 hours per fortnight. Hourly rate is $25.00
