Position: Security Officer (Full-Time Overnight)

Facility: Acclaim Rehab and Nursing Center
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Shift: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM (Full-Time)
Pay Rate: $16/hour

Job Summary

Acclaim Rehab and Nursing Center is seeking a reliable and observant Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring facility access, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and responding quickly to any security or emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor front entrance for elopement-risk residents and unauthorized exits
Oversee visitor sign-in and access control procedures
Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and report suspicious activity
Check and respond to fire alarms, door alarms, and emergency systems
Maintain safety and security of the lobby and common areas
Enforce facility policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safety
Identify and report suspicious behavior or security concerns
De-escalate and manage disruptive individuals when necessary
Respond quickly and appropriately during emergencies
Maintain awareness of government regulations and facility guidelines
Communicate effectively with staff, residents, and visitors

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
Strong decision-making skills and ability to act independently when needed
Ability to observe, assess behavior, and identify potential risks or threats
Willingness to learn and apply new safety procedures and protocols
Basic knowledge of computers, systems applications, and office equipment
Ability to occasionally lift 5–25 lbs as needed

Nursing home or healthcare facility experience preferred (minimum 1 year preferred, not required)
