Job Description: Technical Manager

Position Overview

The Technical Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering complex technical projects within scope, budget, and timeline. The role requires a blend of project management expertise and strong technical understanding to collaborate with engineering teams, stakeholders, and customers.


 

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Lead end-to-end execution of technical projects.

Technical Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and quality.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues through reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Manage expectations, dependencies, and cross-team coordination.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify, document, and track project risks and impediments.
  • Implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Handle escalation paths and ensure timely resolution.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure deliverables meet functional, technical, and security standards.
  • Work with QA/Eng teams on testing strategies and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in technical support, management or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of network & security technologies
  • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, system architecture, and cloud platforms, etc.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Certifications like CCNP/CCIE, CEH/CISSP, ITIL, or Cloud platforms are a plus.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with distributed or cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, OCP).
  • Familiarity with Network practices (CI/CD, automation).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptable and comfortable with fast-paced, evolving environments
