POSITION SUMMARY:

Nauset Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and community-minded Director of Communications & Community Engagement to join the district’s leadership team. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a comprehensive communications strategy that serves both internal and external audiences across the district’s seven (7) schools and four school communities.

The Director oversees all aspects of district communications, including community and media relations, publications, marketing, social media, special events, school and business partnerships, and community education. • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with district leadership, school administrators, staff, families, and community partners to maintain a consistent communications approach, integrate stakeholder feedback, and improve communication practices across the district.

  • Content Creation: Design, develop, and produce high-quality written and visual content—including messaging, graphics, flyers, brochures, newsletters, social media posts, press releases, and website updates—to effectively communicate district initiatives across multiple platforms.

  • Digital Presence Management: Oversee and manage the District’s digital presence, including the official website and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn), ensuring content is current, engaging, accessible, and aligned with district goals and priorities.

  • Website Administration and Support: Manage website content for the Central Office and School Committee, providing functional oversight, guidance, and training to district- and school-based staff on content development, posting, and maintenance.

  • Meeting and Public Engagement Support: Attend School Committee and subcommittee meetings, as requested by the Superintendent, to support communications needs and ensure timely, accurate, and transparent public information.

  • Event Documentation and Promotion: Attend district- and school-hosted events to document, highlight, and communicate district goals, initiatives, and achievements, with an emphasis on equity, inclusion, and meaningful community engagement.

  • Graphic and Visual Design: Develop high-quality graphic and visual materials to support presentations, communications, and outreach efforts for district departments and schools.

  • Leadership Team Participation: Serve as a member of the Superintendent’s Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning, districtwide initiatives, and ensuring coordinated, consistent messaging across the district.

  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS:
