Position Purpose

Provides corporate oversight and governance of the planning and execution of plant nuclear outages and outage scheduling so that outages are executed in a timely and efficient manner in order to provide safe, reliable, and efficient generation to meet system needs.  Provides corporate oversight and governance for planning and execution of plant outage safety requirements and comprehensive scheduling programs for nuclear outages.

 

Principal Accountabilities

Manage benchmarking activities to obtain best in class methods in the areas of outage preparation and execution.

Obtain and transfers industry best practices to all sites for outage practices.

Assist Outage readiness assessments of applicable organizations performance, and facilitate outside organization cooperation (INPO) in assisting TVA nuclear organizations in self assessments.

Develop, plan and coordinate or implement special projects, corrective action plans and improvement programs to address special topics related to opportunities and challenges within the fleet.

Participate as corporate oversight and governance member in industry forums and industry related working groups, to ensure outage initatives are tracking industry best practices and policies for outage planning, preparation, and execution of outage performance.

Fulfill managerial responsibilities regarding assigned responsibilities.   Challenge and ensure budgets are aligned with TVA nuclear sites goals.

Individual Responsibilities will be assigned by GM, Outage Planning & Execution with areas to possibly include but not limited to:

Monitoring and implementation of the outage scheduling system

Provide Leadership to sites for outage preparation and execution that drives for a stretch culture to improve UCF

Provide governance and oversight of the site’s outage schedule including challenging preparation and post outage

Monitor the outage budgets while challenging scope and duration to meet the financial goals

Reactor, Steam Generator, and Under Vessel aliance Contracts

Turbine and Auxiliary equipment alliance Contracts

Oversight, Development, and Utilization of remote technologies to improve safety while reducing time and cost

 

Minimum Requirements

Education – Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical degree or equivalent education, training & experience.

Experience – Minimum of 15 years power plant experience associated with maintenance, engineering, or outage management experience.

Certification/License, etc. – Reactor Licensee or SRO certification or equivalent education, training & experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Ability to analyze and derive performance based gaps and work with others to leverage and improve performance. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
