Quality Assurance Specialist II​

Role

 The Quality Assurance Specialist II is responsible for advancing software quality procedures, developing and executing test plans, and enhancing automated testing systems and test coverage. You will work as a member of a supportive and innovative SCRUM team, collaborating closely with software engineers, research engineers, designers, and product managers. The Geotechnical Analysis engineering leadership will direct you on priorities to deliver successful business outcomes for Seequent. 

 

General Quality Assurance 

  • Advocate the highest quality standards and contribute to general process improvements 
  • Develop and execute test plans and determine acceptance criteria based on requirements specifications
  • End-to-end testing of the improvements delivered within Software Engineering
  • Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration between various stakeholders, e.g. from Software Engineering, Research, Product Design and Product Management 

 

Test Automation 

  • Establish and improve test coverage for existing and newly developed improvements 
  • Monitor test results for various test suites 

 

Release Testing 

  • Ensure releases meet defined quality, security, and compliance standards 
  • Test critical workflows before product releases

 

Qualifications 

  • Academic background (BSc or above) in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years working in relevant positions
  • Strong drive to work in a diverse team to deliver advanced, high quality numerical software
  • Experience in quality assurance for desktop software solutions
  • Understanding of CI/CD workflows and application development lifecycle
  • Understanding of object oriented (OO) software development concepts and patterns
  • Experience with Python or other dynamic languages, such as JavaScript / Typescript, etc. 

In addition, the role requires the following attributes: 

  • Ability to work autonomously within a clear accountability framework, addressing complex issues through adequate planning, monitoring, and escalating when needed
  • Proficient in handling diverse, complex, technical or professional tasks, resolving issues through investigation, creative thinking, and innovative approaches
  • The ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, driving personal and team development
  • Knowledge of (geotechnical) engineering is beneficial, but not essential for this position.
