Department Overview

The Investor Communications Group supports the Firm’s capital raising efforts across various products, strengthening its relationship with investors and contributing to the overall growth of the Firm. The group is responsible for investor services and acts as the liaison between clients and senior management. The department is also responsible for investor onboarding and is the primary point of contact for investor reporting and ongoing account maintenance. The group collaborates closely with department leadership, business unit heads and the Business Development and Marketing Groups to develop and execute plans in line with business objectives.

Position Responsibilities

The Senior Associate (Team Lead) will join the Firm's growing Investor Communications Group which serves as a key point of contact to the Firm’s investor base. This position will be heavily focused on supporting the relevant tax aspects of onboarding and maintaining investor relationships. This role will collaborate heavily with, but be separate from, the Firm’s Tax Department which has primary responsibility for defining and executing tax filing and reporting compliance.

The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Leading and managing the offshore Tax Operations team, including oversight of deliverables, quality control, capacity planning and performance against service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Overseeing end‑to‑end investor onboarding and ongoing account maintenance, including collection, review, validation and management of U.S. and international tax documentation
  • Managing daily tax operations activities, including onboarding due diligence (W‑9, W‑8, FATCA / CRS), client communications and tax data management within CRM systems
  • Ensuring accuracy, integrity and completeness of tax data through review of team outputs and maintenance of controls supporting internal reporting, external reporting and tax filings
  • Ensuring compliance with U.S. tax reporting requirements and international tax regimes, including Cayman Islands and Luxembourg FATCA / CRS
  • Supporting internal stakeholders (e.g., Investor Partner Group and Tax Department) by delivering tax form validation, client inquiry resolution, withholding and reporting under established SLAs
  • Providing data, coordination and operational support for U.S. and international tax filings, including K‑1, 1099, 1042‑S, Form 8966 and foreign FATCA / CRS submissions
  • Partnering with Operations, Technology Solutions and third‑party providers to standardize information reporting processes, enhance controls and drive process improvement and automation
  • Acting as primary escalation point for tax operations matters, leading training, development, prioritization and issue resolution for the team
  • Monitoring team metrics and shifting priorities to ensure timely execution of deliverables while fostering a positive, high‑performance team culture
  • Serving as lead contact with internal and external legal partners on tax operations and investor onboarding matters

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Client-facing financial services experience with tax operations exposure preferred
  • Strong understanding of FATCA, CRS and IRS information reporting required
  • Strong understanding of tax form validation (specifically W-9, W-8, and FATCA/CRS Self-Certification validation) required
  • Proven leader with ability to motivate team members, especially during periods of high investor volumes
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Experience managing direct reports is required
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external groups
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in MS Office products, specifically Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is a strong plus
  • Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture

  • Tax and AML Regulatory Compliance:  Complies with tax and AML laws and regulations related to due diligence, withholding and reporting. Stays informed of changes to tax law, regulations and legal cases to communicate impact to relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits

For Illinois Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $80,000 to $120,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an ‘at-will position’ and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance, Firm or individual department / team performance and market factors.
