Position Summary:
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the facilitation and supervision of traffic coordination required Time Pivotal (Expedites), in a cost-efficient manner. This role ensures compliance with company policies and procedures along with all regulatory guidelines and requirements to ensure accurate and effective processing of the daily requirements of operations for the Time-Pivotal Product of ProTrans.
Key Responsibilities:
The essential functions of this role include:
- Knowledgeable on charter, hand carry, & ground expedites flows;
- Ability to directly tender, handle, and train any team member on handling shipments from pickup, bookings, documentation and tracing of cargo to the final destination;
- Knowledgeable of brokerage services with the ability to train & audit any team member’s work on in-bond as applicable in full compliance;
- Support, coordinate and prioritize workload within Operations, including supporting team PTO;
- Resource of 1st escalation and knowledgeable on when to escalate further;
- Train and advise team members and clients in areas of Time-Pivotal (Expedite);
- Create and/or develop written procedures for handling each mode of transport served by the team and managing the appropriate databases to reflect these procedures;
- Support the communication flow between operations and all other teams at ProTrans;
- Identifies and implements continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, team, and company;
- Use problem solving and customer service skills to resolve any issues or concerns to any shipment and coach team accordingly
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Business Administration, related field of study and/or two (2) to five (5) years similar work experience;
- Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before a group of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
