2026-2027 Temporary Physical Therapist for D28 Schools (9/1/2026 - 1/29/2027)
Daily Rate: $357.63 per day
Duration of Assignment: 9/1/2026 - 1/29/2027
Schedule: 8:15am - 3:45pm
Qualifications & Licensure:
- Current and active license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to practice physical therapy
- Must be physically able to provide therapy to students ages three to fifteen
- Special education experience in a K-12 educational setting is preferred
Reports to:
Assistant Director(s) of Student Services
Performance Responsibilities:
- Knowledge and skills in various methods of assessment to support eligibility decision-making, intervention plan development, and progress monitoring of students' gross motor skills and functional abilities
- Knowledge and skills in various methods of data collection to support program review and goal setting
- Consultation and collaboration skills to be a supportive resource on a variety of topics including interventions within and outside of the classroom setting, curriculum access, physical access to learning environments, and activities of daily living
- Communication skills with students, parents, teachers, other personnel, and outside agencies for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts, and developing plans for service
- Strong teaming skills through the pre-referral and referral process
- Provide recommendations on selecting, modifying or customizing adaptive equipment and assistive technology to promote student mobility and ensure safety
- Adapt school environments to facilitate student access and participation in the educational program
- Provide information and instruction to staff and parents which may include: interpretation of assessment and recommendations; explanation of potential impact of development, medical and/or sensory-motor problems on school performance; instruction in the physical management of students, such as safe lifting, positioning, assisted ambulation, gross motor programs, vocational tasks, leisure activities and/or equipment
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and child development
- Knowledge of the transition process from Early Intervention
- Perform other duties as assigned
