    Qualifications:

    Required: Bachelor's Degree in Education (or related field). Requires a Missouri Teacher Certification; must maintain professional development hours.

    Preferred: A Master's Degree in Education. 

     

    FLSA: Exempt

    Salary Schedule: Per-Approved Teacher Salary Schedule

    Direct Report: Alternative School Principal

    Terms of Employment:  9 Month

    Eligible for emergency telework: With Supervisor approval

    Purpose: Provides instruction and guidance to at-risk students assigned a long-term placement in an alternative school setting. 


    Essential Job Functions: 

    • Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
    • To "telework" when requested by the District.
    • Maintains discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive learning environment.
    • Regularly assess individual student progress and mastery of curricular and behavioral objectives.
    • Maintain complete and accurate student data as required.
    • Supervise students during non-curriculum based times (i.e. breakfast, lunch, detention, etc.).
    • Is able to meet the physical demands of the position.
    • Proficient in technology.
    • Attending meetings and in-service training.
    • Other assigned duties.
