Job Summary/Basic Functions


The Building Control Systems Technician will coordinate Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (hereafter MEP) Services staff, within their appointed areas of specialty, to ensure that the EKU Buildings operate at the expected level of comfort and efficiency. Coordinate all activities related to monitoring and maintenance of the NSB MEP systems, which includes the use of various computer systems, to maintain an optimum educational environment. Incumbent works directly with the Manager, Campus Utility Systems and Building Control and assists them by coordinating Facilities Management resources.






Minimum Qualifications


Education: High School Diploma or GED


Experience: Five years experience is required.


Licensure & Certifications: - Valid state driver's license is required.
- Journeyman or higher license in mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing is required.
- Certified Natural Gas Handler is preferred.
- EPA Certification is preferred

  • 70% - Completes preventative maintenance and repairs in assigned area to ensure efficient operations. - (Essential)

  • 10% - Ensures and maintains that all safety and regulatory compliance issues are addressed and effectively documented. - (Essential)

  • 10% - Supports the University in its operations as assigned - (Essential)
