Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Manager at our Lakeland, FL manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for overseeing and monitoring products manufactured in our facility to ensure they meet Carpenter's high standards. 

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be expected to carry out regular inspections of production departments and products being manufactured, conduct analyses to identify problems, communicate effectively with production and service personnel to make improvements, and prepare reports for plant management.

Additional responsibilities of Quality Assurance Manager will include:

  • Lead quality programs, conduct inspections, and audits; as well as, meetings and training sessions.
  • Ensure the QMS conforms to the set standards and the processes are delivering their intended objectives.
  • Evaluate products and processes for acceptance criteria, initiate corrective actions to remove or mitigate root causes.
  • Planning, managing, and executing actions to ensure compliance with the requirements of regulatory government agencies, QMS standards, and customers’ needs.
  • Define the key operational processes in order to control cost of poor quality.
  • Lead the implementation of LEAN.
  • Control systems, tools, and metrics to accurately measure progress and drive continuous improvement which supports performance of the entire production team.
  • Perform inspections and audits, and report findings.
  • Manage customers complaints, including root cause analysis and corrective action reports.

Skills and Requirements

  • Ability to gather and analyze data about the company’s products or service.
  • Applied knowledge in investigations, including root cause analysis.
  • Applied knowledge in coaching and training.
  • Applied knowledge in policy interpretation and implementation.
  • Applied knowledge with quality metrics tools and ad-hoc projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and can-do attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • SAP experience is an asset.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • 3 – 5 years quality assurance management experience.
  • Six Sigma certification desired.
