Position Summary

The Technical Product Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the reliability, usability, and operational effectiveness of digital products across all platforms. This role combines user acceptance testing (UAT) with technical configuration, troubleshooting, and process optimization to support high-quality product delivery.

 

Reporting to the Principal Product Manager, this role partners closely with engineering, product, and content teams to validate product functionality, support system configuration, and improve operational workflows. The Technical Product Operations Specialist plays a critical role in both identifying issues and helping resolve them through hands-on system interaction and lightweight technical solutions.

 

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, technically curious, and detail-oriented. They are comfortable working across multiple platforms, navigating complex systems, and using tools, scripting, or automation to improve efficiency and reliability. This is not a software engineering role, but it requires strong technical aptitude and a systems-oriented mindset.



Key Responsibilities

UAT Strategy & Execution

  • Own and execute user acceptance testing across all platforms, including mobile, web, and connected TV devices.
  • Develop and maintain test plans and test cases for new features and releases.
  • Validate functionality, usability, and performance prior to release.
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure stability across updates.



Cross-Platform Quality Assurance

  • Validate product behavior across devices, operating systems, and environments.
  • Identify platform-specific issues and ensure consistency of user experience.
  • Develop deep familiarity with platform-specific requirements and constraints.



Technical Configuration & System Support

  • Configure and manage product settings, content configurations, and system parameters as needed.
  • Support internal teams by troubleshooting issues within CMS, apps, or related systems.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues that impact product functionality or content delivery.
  • Serve as a technical resource for diagnosing issues that do not require full engineering support.



Defect Management & Triage

  • Identify, document, and prioritize bugs with clear reproduction steps and context.
  • Partner with engineering teams to triage and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Verify bug fixes and ensure issues are fully resolved.



Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce manual effort, and increase reliability.
  • Develop lightweight scripts, tools, or automations to streamline repetitive tasks.
  • Contribute to the evolution of QA and operational processes.



Release Readiness & Validation

  • Support release readiness by validating product and content from a technical and user perspective.
  • Ensure critical issues are identified and addressed prior to release.
  • Provide input into go/no-go decisions based on quality and system readiness.



Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with product managers, content operations, and engineering teams to ensure alignment.
  • Communicate issues, risks, and findings clearly and effectively.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve product quality and operational efficiency.

Technical & Product Competencies

  • Experience with QA methodologies, test planning, and execution.
  • Strong understanding of mobile, web, and connected TV platforms.
  • Experience working with CMS platforms, admin tools, or product configuration systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across systems and workflows.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (e.g., JavaScript, Python, or similar) preferred.
  • Experience with bug tracking, logging, and debugging tools.
  • Comfort working with APIs, data structures, or system integrations is a plus.



Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 4–6 years of experience in QA, product operations, technical support, or related roles.
  • Experience working with complex, multi-platform digital products strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a technical power user within product ecosystems.
  • Experience in non-profit, faith-based, or mission-driven organizations a plus

  • Working Conditions: Office setting with a forty-hour (+) workweek. This position preferably works out of our Colorado Springs headquarters - remote consideration.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent sitting and use of standard office equipment. Ability to lift approximately 15-20 pounds. Ability to hear phone calls and clearly communicate verbally. Strong visual acuity to review complex interfaces, architecture diagrams, and code. Manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, mouse, and related tools. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under varying deadlines. Capacity to participate in video conferences and virtual collaboration sessions. Excellent concentration, attention to detail, and verbal and written communication abilities.
