NORTHWEST INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT


 


Job Title: Attendance Clerk – Middle School (0914)
Reports to: Office Manager/Principal
Dept./Campus: Campus Assigned
Duty Days: 202
Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade: P10
Date Revised: 03/2021


 


Primary Purpose:
Maintain accurate attendance records for the campus. Under direct supervision maintain Compulsory Attendance Laws and complete data entry.


 


Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Proficient keyboarding, file maintenance and 10-key skills
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
Ability to meet established deadlines
Two years data entry experience


 


Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Collect, verify accuracy of and enter attendance data to established databases.
Prepare and print attendance reports.
Maintain physical and computerized records, including absent documentation from parents and doctors if applicable.
Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding student attendance.
Process and transmit requests for absent student work.
Call parents to verify student absences as needed.
Report all attendance problems to designated administrator.
Process ASAP reports if applicable.
Process information for Compulsory Law filing if applicable.
Hold attendance hearing with designated administrator and or attendance committee.
Assist in campus office as needed.
Maintain confidentiality.
Other duties as assigned.

Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer
