Job Description

  • Description

    Summary:

    The Maintenance Technician performs the preventive and reactive maintenance duties required for the manufacturing operations of the plant. Priorities include execution of PM schedules, repair of any equipment that is needed to maintain maximum production rates. This position generally requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, weekends as required, and also fulfill on-call duties for repairs.

     

    Primary Job Responsibilities:

     The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Practice proper PPE compliance, maintain a safe working record and environment
    • Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager
    • Practice proper forklift operation
    • Maintain facility housekeeping
    • Maintain and build job skills through company training programs
    • Troubleshoot and repair equipment that is not operating properly
    • Ensure that all equipment is kept in a proper and safe working condition
    • Direct and ensure that all scheduled preventive maintenance duties are completed timely
    • Communicate with all plant and support staff
    • Understand and practice PLP core values

     

    Job Skills:

    This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

    • Advanced industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic skills including troubleshooting
    • Understanding of PLP manufacturing process including troubleshooting
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and communicate to other plant personnel
    • Understand purpose and proper use of small hand and power tools
    • Strong time management and task prioritization skills
    • Ability to troubleshoot simple and complex system
    • Basic computer skills
    • Self-motivation

     

    Education Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Continued education certifications, preferred
    • Industril Electrician License or Certification

     

    Preferred Experience:

    • 3-5 years of experience as line operator or similar training/experience
    • Plastic pipe extrusion and/or CNC machine
    • Previous maintenance experience in manufacturing industry
