QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Music or Music Education.
- Knowledge and experience with marching bands.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong willingness to develop a successful program at McDowell.
- Strong communication and public relations skills.
- Willingness to work in a “team environment.”
- Such alternatives to the above as the board may find acceptable and appropriate.
REPORTS TO: High School Band Director and Building Principal
JOB GOAL: The Marching Band Assistant Director will take direction through the Band Director.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend all staff meetings throughout the year as deemed necessary by the Band Director.
- Train students in proper marching technique.
- Rehearse as required, the performance objectives (marching and playing/performing).
- Must be physically present at all rehearsals and performances with students.
- Must be willing and able to assume the responsibilities of the Director at practice sessions as well as performances of any kind in the absence of the Director.
- Must ride with the students and serve in a supervisor capacity on all bus trips.
- Must supervise the handling of all equipment and instruments as determined by the Director. This will include, but not be limited to, the supervision of the loading of the trailers and busses.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Subject to the provisions of the contract between the Millcreek Education Association and the Millcreek Township School District.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Education guidelines
