Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at Grimmer Middle School as a School Service Provider. This full-time position is designed for someone who is committed to supporting the academic and social-emotional development of our students. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters student success.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Licensure: Valid State Certification or licensure in a relevant field (e.g., school counseling, social work)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and intervention to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support services for students.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and monitor progress.
- Facilitate small group and one-on-one sessions focused on skill development, conflict resolution, and personal growth.
- Serve as a liaison between students, families, and school staff, promoting positive communication and engagement.
- Organize and lead workshops and training sessions for staff and parents on topics related to student well-being and support.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, progress, and interventions, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school policies.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and committees to enhance the overall school climate and culture.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in education and student support services.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working in a school setting or with children and adolescents in a support role.
- Strong understanding of child development, educational strategies, and social-emotional learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software for documentation and communication.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to education and student services.
