Description
Supervisory Responsibilities: • Directly supervises employees in assigned Production Area. • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. • Responsibilities include participating in the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Purpose: Supervises and coordinates the activities of an assigned work area to ensure a quality product is being produced in a safe, efficient and timely manner. Ensures compliance to Company policies and procedures by all employees within their assigned work area.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program.
- Supervises production personnel in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures.
- Works closely with all departments to identify and improve processes and prevent operational delays.
- Responsible for maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Carries out the daily production plan and communicates daily production status to supervisors of different shifts to ensure smooth transition of production between shifts.
- Communicates daily job assignments to personnel within their area of responsibility
- Responsible for containment of nonconforming product from their area.
- Reviews efficiency, scrap, and set-up reports on a daily basis.
- Issue written and oral instructions. Standardize procedures to improve efficiency of the department.
- Ensures compliance to safety and shop cleanliness in the workplace
- Monitors and assists personnel in daily tasks.
- Develops, coaches, and mentors other personnel to improve floor communication and productivity.
- Ensures all attendance, time and performance of assigned personnel is documented and accurate.
- Promote a positive atmosphere. Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM employees.
- Demonstrate leadership commitment to the TEAM Industries Quality Management system and coach subordinates on their impact on TEAM QMS objectives.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years production and/or machine shop experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous Supervision experience preferred
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate with a variety of people both verbally and in writing
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi task
- Ability to understand and utilize principals of effective leadership
- Ability to read measuring equipment
- Knowledgeable of equipment and tools within area of responsibility
Training:
- Basic Supervision
- Fundamentals of 5S
- Reference OJT
Physical Demands
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work on a computer up to 20% of shift
- Ability to do repetitive movements (i.e. bending, twisting, walking)
- Ability to stand up to 100% of shift
