PRIMARY FOCUS:

Mid-level role responsible for managing day-to-day client servicing, processing, renewals, and technical support for Key Account and Large Group employee benefits accounts, typically 100 or more enrolled lives.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Client Manager, Key Accounts/Large Group manages a client base of large and complex group employee benefits accounts, providing day-to-day servicing, renewal support, and operational assistance. This role requires 3 to 5 years of experience at an Employee Benefits agency or brokerage and works in close coordination with the Senior Client Executive to support complex plan administration and client retention.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Service

  • Review insurance coverages and advise the Senior Client Executive on required changes; flag shifts in exposure, marketplace conditions, or compliance requirements that may affect the program.
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of large group benefit plan designs including fully insured, self-funded, and level-funded arrangements; clearly articulate plan terms and details to clients and internal staff.
  • Manage daily processing including enrollment changes, plan amendments, billing reconciliation, carrier and TPA communications, and compliance correspondence; utilize all available resources to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, carriers, TPAs, and internal staff.
  • Keep client files in order in accordance with Venbrook's policy and documentation procedures; document all account activities clearly and thoroughly.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries and requests; escalate complex or high-stakes issues to the Senior Client Executive as appropriate.
  • Support stop-loss administration, TPA coordination, and vendor communication for self-funded clients under the direction of the Senior Client Executive.

Marketing, Renewals & New Business

  • Prepare benefit plan RFP submissions and renewal materials under the direction of the Senior Client Executive; assist with carrier and TPA selection and send completed submissions professionally and on schedule.
  • Follow up with carriers, TPAs, and stop-loss markets; monitor the quote and underwriting process to ensure all established deadlines are met.
  • Assess and act upon opportunities to develop additional account revenue through cross-selling additional coverages or referrals.
  • Prepare coverage summaries, plan comparison reports, and compliance documentation; process invoices and maintain account files.
  • Support the Senior Client Executive during open enrollment, including preparing employee communications, benefit guides, carrier presentations, and enrollment platform coordination.

  • Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of large group benefit plan design including fully insured, self-funded, and level-funded arrangements. Familiarity with ACA compliance, ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA requirements.
  • California Life & Health License required.
  • CEBS or GBA designation preferred.
  • Bilingual - Spanish Preferred

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
  • BenefitPoint or Employee Navigator experience required.
  • Familiarity with self-funded claims reporting platforms and benefits administration systems preferred.

EDUCATION & LICENSING:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of related Employee Benefits experience at an agency or brokerage.
  • Experience supporting large group or Key Account clients preferred.
  • California Life & Health License required.
  • CEBS or GBA designation preferred.

Salary Range 80k-90k
