EYE-Q Vision Care is seeking applicants for the position of Licensed Vocational Nurse to perform pre-operative phone calls and screen patients. We are looking for someone with exceptional customer service skills who can provide quality care to our patients.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interviews patients to gather medical history, review current medications, and assess potential risks related to surgery.
• Orders and coordinates labs, EKG's, and chest x-rays to ensure patients are medically fit for surgery.
• Conducts thorough assessments of patients, including reviewing medical histories, medications, allergies, and previous surgeries to identify potential risks.
•Works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare providers to ensure a smooth and coordinated pre-operative process.
• Advocates for patients' needs and concerns throughout the pre-operative process, ensuring that they receive the best possible care.
• Provides patients with specific instructions for surgeries.
• Answers any questions the patients may have about the surgeries.
• Performs administrative duties pertinent to position.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
• Knowledge of health care laws, regulations, and nursing care methods and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of EMRs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma/GED.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in California from the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
• National Association for Practical Nurse Education and Service I.V. Therapy Certification.
• Ophthalmic/plastics surgery experience (preferred).

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in vision care. Hourly rate will be determined based on experience and training of the candidate. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.

POSITION LOCATION: EYE-Q Vision Care Fresno

PAY RANGE: $24.20 - $38.50 depending on skills, experience, and education.
