Work Schedule: Part time, Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 2 pm (30 hours).

A Day in the Life of a Teacher Aide:

  • Completes all job requirements as expressed by the classroom team.
  • Actively engages with students on a consistent basis.
  • Demonstrates consistent use of reflective listening and conflict resolution techniques. Promotes problem solving and positive social interactions in the classroom.
  • Learns from related service professionals how to use specialized equipment/techniques where necessary and is responsible for the carryover of therapy programs into the classroom.
  • Responsible for assuring the personal safety of children in all settings throughout the day including gym and outside.
  • Recognizes and follows the chain of command by communicating concerns to the immediate supervisor. Maintains and supports positive working relationships with the program staff.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in hours and classroom placement.
  • Facilitates a close working relationship with families. Provides support and encouragement, as well as training/education as required.
  • Participates in staff development and in-service training as required to maintain job status.
  • Maintains confidentiality and respect for all students, their family members, and RCC co-workers. Maintains appropriate professional and personal boundaries including on social media.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
