We are looking for an experienced Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Oak Creek, WI

- Completing repair activities on generators or components

- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of service
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
Responsibilities
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
- High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
- Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
(Intermediate):
- Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
- Startup and repair of bypass transfer switch.
- Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation.
(Advanced):
- Setup, troubleshoot and repair basic paralleling generator systems.
- Understanding switchgear schematics.
- Able to train Entry/Intermediate Technicians/Mechanics.
Education, Licenses, Certifications - Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
- Current relevant electrical certification
- Locally valid driving permit
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
- Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
- Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
- High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
Qualifications
This is a remote Field Service Power Generation technician position working out of the Oak Creek WI location servicing southeastern Wisconsin out to Madison as needed.
- A current valid license is required for this role
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- 3 years driving experience
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
