This role is responsible for executing on the strategy of Supply Ops and parts distribution. As a people leader, the Manager Supply Ops & Parts Distribution leads and establishes priorities for the team to manage inventory and deliver/distribute parts. This role will assist the Director to manage a tiered parts distribution structure through the Alaska Airlines flight network, develop common processes to be utilized across the enterprise for parts management and ensure appropriate financial management of the parts inventory.
- Lead team and establish policies and procedures in support of daily operational responsibilities across all assigned locations.
- Shape culture of safety within the department and reinforce behaviors in compliance with rules and regulations centered around safety.
- Contribute to the long-term strategy and planning for staffing, real estate management, GSE equipment management and supply ordering.
- Ensure compliance with SMS, federal regulations, and all company safety policies and procedures (e.g., FAR, OSHA, and GPM).
- Execute on strategy to manage work control parts to ensure effective management of parts including management reporting, status reporting and expedite management.
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge of TRAX functions and other IT tools as they pertain to the Supply Ops environment and ensures proper procedures and management controls are in place to manage inventory across the environment.
- Ensure parts are properly managed and accounted for in assigned locations including cycle-counting, periodic and annual audit processes.
- Ensue Hazmat guidelines are understood, adhered to, and monitored in all assigned locations, including reviewing MSDS sheets from vendors to identify hazardous items.
- Manage invoices, agreements, surplus equipment sale/disposal processes, and other business-related activities within Alaska System Regulation guidelines required to manage the Supply Ops locations (i.e., Facility Agreements, Office Supplies, etc.).
Required
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in material planning, supply ops, or warehouse management.
- A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, or an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of this degree.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Travel approximately 10%-20% of the time.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- Experience with using an inventory management software platform and inventory control.
- Knowledge of dangerous goods shipping procedures (IATA & CFR 49) along with experience of handling, storage and shipping Dangerous Goods.
- Familiar with OSHA/EPA regulations; warehouse experience.
- Familiar with IAM (International Association of Machinists) labor agreements or experience in within with in a bargaining unit environment

$104,100 - $156,150 / year
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
