Description

  • AmeriQual is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Evansville, IN! If you have a passion for problem-solving, process improvement, and keeping operations running smoothly, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • ·         Assist in new equipment installation, working professionally with Retort operators and other cross-functional department team members
    • ·         Troubleshoot and repair Retort malfunctions
    • ·         Exhibit a sense of urgency around work order completion and documentation of work performed; must be comfortable quickly escalating and communicating equipment issues to others for additional support and resources
    • ·         Perform equipment calibrations and preventive maintenance.
    • ·         Update the computerized maintenance system with accurate and timely information related to work performed
    • ·         Understand and adhere to all safety guidelines and GMP. 

Requirements

Qualifications

  • ·         An advanced degree is not required, but strong mechanical abilities and troubleshooting aptitude are necessary.
  • ·         Successful candidates will have 1+ years’ experience in the Retort department and/or understanding of retort technology
  • ·         Must be willing and able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment with hot, humid conditions.  
  • ·         Reliable, professional, can-do mentality
  • ·         Ability to multi-task and prioritize, and display strong time management skills, with the ability to work without extensive supervision
  • ·         Strong communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a cross-functional team
  • ·         Working knowledge of all current OSHA and Safety Standards

 

Physical Requirements

  • ·         Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, and climb for prolonged periods.
  • ·         Ability to talk and hear in person and by telephone.
  • ·         Frequent use of hands to operate tools and equipment; reach with hands and arms.
  • ·         Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to service machinery.
  • ·         Perform intricate repairs requiring manual dexterity, sometimes in confined spaces or on complex machinery and packaging systems.
  • ·         Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • ·         Frequent work on the production floor, requiring tolerance of standard seasonal warehouse and food-processing temperatures.
  • ·         Work in a facility where nuts, fruits, and other allergens are present.
