POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pet Care Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Wooflands, Nemacolin's premier pet care facility, to ensure exceptional standards of animal welfare and luxury guest service. This role combines hands-on animal care with team leadership, operational oversight, and elevated guest engagement. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong understanding of canine behavior, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to maintain Forbes Five-Star standards in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, coach, and support Pet Care Associates to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service
  • Lead daily shift operations, including scheduling, task delegation, and workflow management
  • Conduct training on animal handling, safety protocols, and luxury service standards
  • Provide real-time feedback and support performance management initiatives

Animal Care & Facility Oversight

  • Ensure the highest level of care, safety, and supervision for all pets within daycare and boarding services
  • Oversee group play management, ensuring proper grouping by size, temperament, and activity level
  • Monitor health and behavior, escalating concerns to management or veterinary partners as needed
  • Maintain strict adherence to sanitation, cleanliness, and facility presentation standards

Guest Experience Excellence

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for pet owners, delivering personalized and proactive communication
  • Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, urgency, and discretion
  • Enhance the guest experience by anticipating needs and offering tailored pet services
  • Ensure all interactions reflect the resort’s Forbes Five-Star service standards

Operations & Administration

  • Oversee check-in/check-out procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain detailed records of pet care, feeding schedules, medications, and incidents
  • Monitor inventory of pet supplies and coordinate replenishment
  • Assist in implementing operational procedures and continuous improvement initiatives

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all safety standards, emergency procedures, and animal handling protocols
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and resort policies
  • Lead incident response and documentation when necessary

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • 2–4 years of experience in pet care, animal services, veterinary support, or dog daycare, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of canine behavior, body language, and group play dynamics
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-centric approach
  • Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and actively engage with animals
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak resort seasons
