Overview
The Project Cost Engineer will serve as a vital member of our field operations team for a major electrical construction project. Based in our nearby project office, this role requires a proactive approach and significant time spent on a 1-million-square-foot construction site to observe progress firsthand. In this role, you will bridge the gap between field performance and financial reporting. You will be responsible for tracking installed quantities and production rates, synthesizing data from multiple sources to provide accurate, high-level financial analysis. Additionally, you will oversee the tracking and financial reporting for all Time & Material (T&M) activities and change orders.

Job Description
Update and maintain a production and quantity tracking system for all major electrical scopes
Perform regular field walks to confirm quantities and field activities
Compare and report on budget vs actual variances
Identify and flag anomalies
Coordinate and interact with field supervision to understand budgeted production expectations.
Review, manage, and validate the T&M process
Review, manage, and maintain change order tracking
Prepare weekly and monthly PAR and cost reports, extracting data from multiple systems, including:
Procore
JDE
Internal database
P6
Cupix
3D Model
Shop Drawings
Develop trend analysis and tracking reports
Establish and revise projected budgets as shop drawings are completed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Project Accounting, Project Management, or equivalent experience
Three (3)+ years of related experience strongly preferred
Working Knowledge of construction job costing and accounting concepts
Ability to reference and interpret construction drawings, models, and specifications
Proficiency in MS Excel, including data aggregation, formulas, and reporting
Effective communicator and comfortable in both office and construction site environments
Preferred but not required knowledge of:
Procore
Electrical Estimating Ability
3D Modeling
Cupix or another digital twin environment
