Certified Athletic Trainer

Graceland University is seeking a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer on the Lamoni, Iowa campus. Founded in 1895 and sponsored by Community of Christ, Graceland is a community of passionate, caring, and dedicated individuals who make up a worldwide community network that reaches far beyond its two campuses.

Lamoni is a city in Decatur County, Iowa. The population is about 2,052. Located an hour south of Des Moines; and about 2 hours north of Kansas City on I-35.

This is an 11-month position reporting directly to the Director of Sports Medicine. Graceland University currently serves about 630 student-athletes across 23 varsity sports.

Responsibilities include:

providing athletic training services in the Athletics Department
using the ATS software for injury tracking
possible supervision of work study and Capstone internship students
other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director, Director of SM, or Associate Head Athletic Trainer

Qualifications include:

Master’s degree (preferred) in related field
NATABOC certified athletic trainer (ATC), in good standing
minimum of one year experience
Iowa Athletic Trainer’s license (or eligible)

Additional Compensation includes:

NATA dues
State Licensure dues
Athletic Training Personal Liability Fees
Some additional funds for CEU’s

Nights and weekends are required as well as some travel.

Graceland University competes in the NAIA’s highly competitive Heart of America Athletic Conference in a wide variety of sports, so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with athletes of all types.
