Role & Department Overview

We are seeking a proactive and organised temporary Administrator to support our team during the busy university exam period. This is a busy and varied role involving coordination of exam-related administration, responding to student and staff queries, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the smooth running of assessment processes.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience of administrative work and confident use of Microsoft Office are advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborative working and providing high-quality administrative support during a key period in the academic year.

Please note that this role is not open to current students.
 

Pay Rate: £13.70 per hour plus £1.65 holiday

Job Description


  • Dealing with face-to-face and online enquiries relating to the assessment period.Typically, these will be students and academic or administrative members of staff.
  • Checking exam scripts and ensuring that the marking process is carried out in a fair and rigorous manner.
  • Assisting with the setting up of arrangements for non- standard exam settings.
  • Transporting exam scripts from venue to the department.
  • Archiving of exams and coursework scripts
  • Scanning of exam scripts to send to external examiners

Person Specification

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Confident communicator with good written and verbal communication skills 

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Professional and approachable manner when dealing with staff and students

  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and appropriately

  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work during peak operational periods
