The Facilities Maintenance Technician will preserve the excellent condition and functionality of Defined Fitness locations.  Duties will include conducting quality assessments, scheduling repairs, maintaining inventory and developing preventative maintenance procedures. The ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems and basic tools and appliances. You must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

    Inspect buildings, equipment and systems to identify and correct any issues  

    Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures 

    Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures 

    Manage heating, plumbing and electrical systems to guarantee functionality 

    Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard 

    Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, etc.   

    Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies  

    Responsible for the daily and safe operations of the Maintenance Department. Oversee the repair or replacement of equipment and systems, all facilities maintenance as required. To ensure maximum productivity and efficiencies associated with maintenance while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company

    Communicates regularly with all members of in club Leadership Team, both individually and as a team, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues

    Will work alongside the Operations Manager/ General Manager on ordering of all equipment parts, sanitary supplies, maintenance supplies, and related items using the Company approved purchase order system

    Monitors operation and use of all equipment and systems.

    Work with District Maintenance Manager to Initiate maintenance and safety programs for a variety of facility equipment

    Be responsible for the preventative maintenance of machinery may include HVAC

    Assist in the cleanliness of our gyms as well as inspecting that locker rooms, wet areas, and all amenities provided at the club are being serviced and cleaned by our Detail Team Members.

    Keep compliant and aware of all changes with regulatory agencies. This includes the log and track of OSHA equipment and maintenance inventory

    Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of all emergency procedures

    Serve as a backup to Operations Manager all aspects of the buildings, exterior grounds, equipment, inventory overall facility

    Process and oversee deliveries, Example: Shamrock, New Equipment, etc.

    Plan and schedule facility modifications, including cost estimates for the facility with appropriate timelines 

    Maintain, repair, and perform PM tasks for all fitness equipment in gym

    Deliver accurate and timely weekly and daily reports of Cardio, Free Weights, Selectorized Equipment, through Preventative Maintenance

    Perform general building maintenance repairs, i.e., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, general carpentry, painting, drywall repair, locks, and preventative maintenance (PM) work BOTH Exterior and Interior

    Maintain pool, spa, wet & dry sauna

    Accurate reporting on Pool and Hot tub Logs, and making sure Chemicals and PH Levels are in the appropriate range 

    Basic repair/maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical, and plumbing equipment.

    Perform carpentry repair duties

    Inspect heating and air conditioning equipment, sprinkler systems, and fire protection devices to ensure proper operation

    Replace overhead lamps in both incandescent and fluorescent overhead lighting fixtures and replace lighting ballasts as necessary

    Plan and paint large areas within the gym, including touch up painting when necessary.

    Maintain Facility C.O.R.E. Ticketing System to reflect RESOLVED tickets for maintenance and repair requests and work orders

    Attend and be on time for OM and Tech Weekly Meetings

    Maintain an organized facilities and janitorial room

Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent qualification 

    A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role 

    In-depth knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems 

    Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques 

    PC literate, including Microsoft Office and various other products 


    Must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license (with acceptable driving record) and own means of transportation (registered and insured) 

    Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings 

    Effective problem-solving abilities 

    Must be well- organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks 

    Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field, preferred 

Physical Requirements 

    Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods

    Must be able to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds
