Bethany Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Middle School Soccer Coach. This full-time position involves leading our middle school soccer program, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for student-athletes, and promoting the values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in soccer, experience working with youth, and a commitment to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive soccer program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Plan and conduct daily practices, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all participants.
- Organize and manage all aspects of the soccer season, including scheduling practices and games, coordinating transportation, and overseeing team logistics.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and progress.
- Foster a positive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth among student-athletes.
- Monitor and assess the performance and development of players, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the overall athletic program at Bethany Middle School.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and league policies and regulations related to athletics.
- Attend coaching clinics, workshops, and meetings to stay current with best practices in coaching and player development.
- Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and well-organized for practices and games.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, particularly at the middle school or youth level, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, strategies, and rules of the game.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff in a school environment.
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for practices and games.
- Commitment to promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive athletic environment for all participants.
