Job Summary:
Join our team as a Payroll Specialist and play a crucial role in processing multi-state full cycle payroll for 500 weekly employees and 400 biweekly employees. You'll handle Certified Payroll Reports across various platforms (federal form, DIR, LCPtracker, etc.) and manage all payroll-related issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with leadership across multiple locations to deliver outstanding customer service throughout the payroll process.
- Coordinate with database administrators, human resources, and other departments to ensure smooth maintenance of employee data.
- Address and resolve all payroll-related issues promptly, escalating as necessary.
- Review, monitor, and calculate wages, tax deductions, overtime, and other payroll elements according to state and federal laws.
- Ensure accurate coding on all earnings and deductions by labor allocations for accounting.
- Process and monitor garnishment orders.
- Maintain and document all transactions related to payroll processing.
- Integrate and process data from other databases into the HRIS.
- Accurately enter and document changes for timely payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with employee/employer/unemployment taxes in all necessary states.
- Balance payroll data against other databases and reports.
- Conduct payroll compliance checks to ensure accuracy per Federal and State regulations.
- Complete Certified Payroll Reports for assigned Prevailing Wage Jobs.
- Continuously upgrade your knowledge and skills related to systems, processes, and requirements.
- Stay current with Federal and State tax changes.
- Ensure all payroll transactions adhere to both external and internal policies.
- Prepare and manage reports on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including ad hoc reports.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as needed.
