SUBSTITUTE - TEACHERS


 


 


Job Title: Substitute Teachers    Reports to:   Building Administrators    FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt


 


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor degree or higher;

  • Must have, or the ability to obtain, a valid Washington State Substitute Teacher's Certificate;

  • Experience working with children and students preferred;

  • Ability to communicate professionally with students, parents/guardians, administrators and other school staff;

  • Ability to follow and enforce rules, policies and procedures;

  • Must be punctual and reliable;

  • Fingerprint background check is required;

  • Must pass a criminal background check that meets required state, federal, and Clarkston School District standards;

  • Must have, or be able to obtain, current valid CPR/First aid certificate

  • Safe Schools Training is REQUIRED, and needs to be completed BEFORE start date


Job Description:



  • Teach lesson plans and instructions as directed by the absent teacher

  • Maintain clean, respectful, and orderly classroom

  • Follow classroom and school procedures as directed by the school

  • Leave notes for the regular teacher at the end of the teaching day

  • Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators

  • Keep records of attendance, accidents and incidents

  • Protect students, equipment, materials and facilities

  • Ensure safety of students at all times

  • Other duties as assigned by Building Administrator
