Job Summary

We’re seeking a confident and visionary Host/Executive Producer to lead the HOT 97 News – New York team. This is a hybrid leadership role that blends co-hosting, editorial strategy, and live-production management.

The Host/Executive Producer will shape the show’s content and tone, co-host the show, oversee daily rundowns, manage staff, and maintain brand consistency across platforms.
 This person should bring strong news judgment, fast research skills, and the ability to deliver accurate, relevant context during live discussions.

It’s a hands-on role for a newsroom leader who’s equally comfortable hosting on-air and crafting strategy behind the scenes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the HOT 97 News – New York team, ensuring content aligns with the show’s voice, mission, and connection to New York’s audience.
  • Oversee daily rundowns, scripts, and segment development to maintain editorial accuracy, balance, and impact.
  • Co-host the show, delivering stories and joining panel conversations on current events and culture.
  • Fact-check and research live during broadcasts to provide quick, verified information and context.
  • Collaborate closely with co-hosts, producers, and panelists to create engaging, forward-thinking content.
  • Supervise story pitching, segment booking, and guest coordination.
  • Write and edit scripts and segments.
  • Oversee video editing and final show production for broadcast and digital platforms; edit video as needed.
  • Engage audiences through HOT 97’s digital channels and the NOW Local News App; use the app to feature authentic, community-driven stories and viewer submissions.
  • Stay plugged into the social, cultural, and political issues shaping NYC.
  • Represent the show at local events, community gatherings, and cultural activations.


Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in news, talk, or discussion-based programming.
  • Strong editorial judgment, writing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience as a host or on-camera content creator; comfortable appearing on camera and participating in live discussions.
  • Excellent fact-checking and quick-research skills under pressure.
  • Knowledge of NYC’s music, entertainment, and local news landscape.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro or similar).
  • Demonstrated success managing creative teams and live productions.
  • Collaborative leadership style with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in digital storytelling and social engagement.
