Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) is dedicated to providing children and teens with safe, fun places to learn and grow, with professional staff who offer support and guidance, serving as caring mentors and role models. One aspect of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco's programs is our summer sleep-away camp. Camp Mendocino is a nationally recognized program where counselors work with youth ages 8 -17 of all backgrounds to help them gain the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders.


Camp Mendocino is a residential summer camp located in Northern California near Fort Bragg, CA. It is spread over 2,000 acres in the breathtaking Jackson Demonstration State Forest, and takes approximately three and a half hours to reach from the city of San Francisco. We offer numerous programs including mountain biking, archery, arts & crafts, high ropes, climbing wall, swimming, environmental education, gardening, dance, and overnight camping.


The Registration Coordinator (RC) is based out of our Administrative Office in downtown San Francisco and provides administrative support to ensure Camp registration functions smoothly and efficiently. RCs also provide excellent customer service to all campers, parents, and affiliated agencies. This position works largely with our online database, communicating with parents and Clubhouses, and organizing Changeover Days (days when campers are transported to/from Camp). The Registration Coordinator reports to the Manager of Camp Administration, also based out of the SF Administrative Office.


Schedule 

This is a Part Time (15 hours per week with some evenings and weekends required) temporary/seasonal position that starts May 15th and ends August 6th.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in handling online camper application registration. This includes generating reports, filing paperwork, tracking paperwork, calling parents and agency representatives, printing bus lists and spreadsheets, as well as extensive data entry and database management.
  • Assists with all Camp related work coming into and out of the administrative office, including producing program materials, word processing, and photocopying as necessary.
  • Handles all incoming calls, providing general information, checking voicemails and returning calls in a timely manner, referring callers to other staff or taking messages as necessary.
  • Assists with coordination of camper departure and arrival at Changeover Days. Must be at all arrival and departure days and be able to organize and manage volunteers. Assist as needed in handling monetary responsibilities for Camp in a timely and organized fashion
  • Manage multiple email inboxes and schedule email campaigns to households and agencies
  • Drives van containing Changeover Day supplies
  • Performs other related administrative duties as requested


Required Experience

  • At least 1 year of office/administrative experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers, parents, agencies, and campers.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, experience working with databases and Excel spreadsheets. Strong customer relations/service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision


Pay

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs.  At BGCSF,  our decisions are based on other factors and dependent on circumstances for each position.  Depending on the need and requirement of the position,  an individual could be hired at or near the entry level, mid - level or top of the range for their role and compensation.  As such, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $23.00 per hour.
