POSITION: Corporate Engagement Ambassador

REPORTS TO:Senior Manager, Workplace Engagement
STATUS:Seasonal-Temporary (July 15 – December 23), 35 hours/week, hybrid position
PAY RATE: $27.00/hour
PRIMARY PURPOSE
A United Way Ambassador is a temporary full time professional hired to support United Way’s corporate fundraising team throughout the annual fundraising campaign season. Ambassadors directly assist with workplace giving campaigns and provide overall support to the corporate fundraising team.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supportthedevelopmentand execution ofmeaningfulemployee fundraising campaignsin collaboration with the corporate fundraising team. This includes:
- Communicatingand planningwith key corporate contacts
- Attending and presentingthe United Way of Metro Chicago mission atvirtual and in-person campaign presentations and activities
- Capturing and communicating key outcomes and insights to internal teamsand documenting them in the CRM system
- Assistwith organizationandfacilitation ofvolunteer events. This includes:
- Deliveringimpactfulpresentations to corporate volunteers
- Providinghands-oninstruction to volunteersforpackingessential items forunderserved communities
- Manage multiple timelines and deliverables simultaneously,demonstratingstrong project management skills and attention to detail.
- Provide administrative support, customer service, and other duties as assigned by the management team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strongpublic speaking,presentation, andcommunicationskills
- Intermediateproficiencyin Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experienced and comfortable in virtual platforms, such as Zoom,Microsoft Teams,WebEx, etc.
- Strongattention to detail,problem-solving, critical thinking, and judgment skillsrequired.
- Possess a collaborative spirit,aswell as the ability to multi-task and prioritize concurrent projects and day-to-day tasks within a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work bothin-person and virtually(Tuesdays&Wednesdays are mandatory in-office days)
- Maintainsconfidential informationand adheresto privacy policies.
- Comfortable with travelingto in-person fundraising eventsand activitiesboth in the city of Chicago and in suburban Chicago; reliabletransportation is a plus.
