Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Behavioral Health Services in Lincoln, Nebraska to provide full operational leadership of Archway Counseling and related CSN behavioral health programs. In this role, you will oversee clinical operations, staff development, and regulatory compliance while ensuring high-quality services for individuals with mental health and developmental needs.

 

The Director will collaborate closely with program managers, clinicians, and executive leadership to strengthen service delivery, support staff, and maintain compliance with state and federal behavioral health regulations.

 

What You Will Do

Clinical & Behavioral Health Program Leadership

  • Provide strategic oversight of CSN’s behavioral health programs, ensuring all services reflect evidence-based, person-centered practices through strong behavioral health program management.
  • Direct development and oversight of HCBS behavioral programming, including timely completion of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Systematically analyze clinical outcomes and service effectiveness data to drive continuous improvement, implement corrective actions, and foster a culture of accountability and innovation.
  • Uphold and advance CSN’s mission, policies, and strengths-based culture through engaged professional leadership.

Therapist & Contractor Oversight

  • Manage contracted therapist relationships, ensuring quality documentation, billing integrity, and services delivered in safe and therapeutic environments under strong clinical program oversight.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes across Archway Counseling programs and implement improvement strategies as needed to sustain high-quality care.

RISK Services Management & Compliance

  • Oversee direction, monitoring, and regulatory compliance for all individuals receiving RISK services.
  • Maintain active communication with the DHHS Clinical Team to ensure satisfaction with CSN services; attend team meetings and provide guidance on service expectations.
  • Assist in the development and tracking of exception requests; conduct file reviews to support intake and service authorization decisions.
  • Oversee and ensure training for employees providing RISK services, covering program expectations, supervision standards, and individual support.

Staff Training & Development

  • Design, direct, or deliver individualized training and consultation to CSN staff, building competency in behavioral health support across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and training to leadership on HCBS expectations, BSP implementation, and evidence-based programmatic supports.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Achieve financial targets through strategic planning and disciplined execution.
  • Oversee client eligibility, service documentation, claims, and reimbursement processes to ensure billing integrity and operational efficiency.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Licensure as an Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP)
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field. 
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in mental health services
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
  • Ability and willingness to implement crisis intervention techniques as trained.
  • Ability to maintain reliable, consistent attendance and report to work physically and mentally prepared. 

 

Preferred Skills & Experience: 

  • Five (5) years of experience in human services and/or mental health services
  • Two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Experience with HCBS programming, ISK funding, and regulatory compliance.
