Technical Program Management Director

About the Role
We are seeking a highly strategic and execution-focused Technical Program Management Director working directly with the CTO. This role operates at the intersection of technology, operations, and leadership - driving critical initiatives, improving organizational effectiveness, and ensuring alignment across engineering and business priorities.
You will act as a force multiplier for the CTO: leading high-impact programs, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and helping scale the engineering organization during a period of transformation and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Program Management
- Lead end-to-end execution of high-priority initiatives sponsored by the CTO
- Drive planning, tracking, and delivery of cross-functional technical programs
- Establish program governance, milestones, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms
- Identify risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies
AI Bootcamp Program Leadership
- Own program management of the internal AI Bootcamp, from employee registration through post-graduation surveys and employee effectiveness measures
- Coordinate curriculum delivery with internal and external stakeholders
- Track engagement, progress, and outcomes
- Define and report on success metrics (e.g., adoption, skill development, business impact)
Builder Onboarding
- Design and manage onboarding programs for new Builder hires
- Ensure new hires are effectively ramped on tools, systems, and development practices
- Partner with engineering leadership to continuously improve onboarding experience and speed-to-productivity
Engineering Transformation Support
- Support the CTO in driving transformation initiatives related to software development practices, tooling, and processes
- Facilitate adoption of new methodologies and alignment to engineering mission and vision
- Coordinate communication, training, and change management efforts across teams
Executive Support Functions
- Act as a trusted advisor and operational partner to the CTO
- Prepare executive briefings, updates, and strategic communications
- Drive alignment across leadership teams and ensure follow-through on key decisions
- Improve internal processes, cadences, and organizational visibility
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in program management, engineering operations, or global operational leadership experience focused on delivering business results
- Must have experience working in a technical capacity or alongside development teams.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and engineering workflows
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs
- Excellent cross-cultural communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organized and metrics-driven with strong execution discipline
- Ability to operate successfully in highly ambiguous environment
- Ability to take full program ownership and deliver results with little oversight, high ownership, and accountability
- Champion for innovation and leveraging AI to maximize professional potential and delivery for the business
- Experience working closely with executive leadership (CTO, VP Engineering, etc.)
- Experience supporting organizational transformation or change management efforts
Preferred
- Understanding of AI/ML initiatives or developer productivity tooling
- Background in engineering, computer science, or related technical field
