Overview

Haven of Champaign, a Haven Healthcare affiliated facility, is hiring a Full-Time Cook to join our dietary team. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care food service who are passionate about preparing high-quality meals for residents.

Cook Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary guidelines

• Follow therapeutic diets and portion control standards (e.g., low sodium, diabetic diets)

• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards (ServSafe, OSHA, CDC guidelines)

• Set up tray line and ensure accurate meal service to residents

• Assist with food prep, serving, and dishwashing as needed

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment

• Receive and store food supplies following proper procedures

• Work collaboratively with dietary aides, nursing staff, and leadership

Qualifications

• Required: Previous experience as a Cook, Line Cook, or Dietary Cook

• Preferred: Experience in nursing home, assisted living, hospital, or healthcare setting

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays
