Job Description

The Global Delivery Manager (GDM) is responsible for managing the delivery pipeline and providing direct oversight and quality controls for a group of engagements being solutioned and delivered simultaneously in a regional, account, or practice area. The GDM guides and mentors a team of Delivery Leads and/or Engagement Managers based in that region or practice area. This role supports targeted consulting revenues under Delivery on an annual basis. The GDM is measured by customer satisfaction, customer retention/expansion, financial attainment, and billable utilization for all engagements in their portfolio. This role may require travel several times per year.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Alignment and Execution: GDMs have three fundamental responsibilities: embracing the organizational vision, building alignment around that vision, and bringing the vision to life by championing its execution. This involves creating a cohesive, purpose-driven organizational culture where employees feel connected to something bigger than themselves.
  • Delivery Excellence: Oversees engagements with varying delivery models, to ensure that objectives are achieved, delivered according to schedule, and within budget. Additionally, ensuring that internal compliance requirements are fulfilled.
  • Strategic Planning: Provides strategic value and engagement advisement by anticipating client needs. Identifies trends, opportunities, and potential challenges that can impact the team's short and long-term goals and engagements. Leads delivery strategy with Practice input and proactively collaborates with the team to identify the root cause of problems and creates potential solutions to optimize work ahead.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Guides and mentors a team of Delivery Leads and/or Engagement Managers based in the region or practice area. Aligning individual career goals with organizational objectives, providing coaching and developmental feedback, and fostering a passion for self-development among team members.
  • Strategic Client Relationship Management: Builds rapport and maintains relationships with client stakeholders to understand their long-term goals and align services accordingly. Strengthens relationships through value-based conversations.
  • Organizational Savvy: Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to ensure engagement success.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly informs internal and external stakeholders about the progress, challenges, and results of engagement activities.
  • Risk Management: Identifies potential service delivery risks and developing mitigation strategies, creating contingency plans for unforeseen challenges, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Performance Reporting: Creates custom reports, monitoring compliance with service provisions, and preparing executive-level materials to track and evaluate performance.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management or delivery management roles.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and portfolios.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the IT Professional Services industry.
  • Master’s degree in related field.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and customer engagement strategies.
  • Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies: Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP.

US Salary range: $115,000 - $150,000   Potential bonus up to: $30,000

 

Compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors which may include, but are not limited to, education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
