Pay Grade/Pay Range: $14.00/hour



Department/Organization: 200641 - Financial Aid and Scholarships



Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Job Summary: The Graduate Student Assistant for Student Employment Services (SES) provides administrative and customer service support to students, parents, and employers regarding on- and off-campus employment opportunities. This position serves as a front-line resource by responding to inquiries through email, telephone, and in-person interactions. The Graduate Student Assistant also supports SES staff with departmental initiatives, outreach efforts, and special projects that promote student employment.



Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama graduate student enrolled at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters.



Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application on file with our institution. U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens may complete a FAFSA at studentaid.gov.



Skills and Knowledge: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective listening skills. Ability to effectively handle stressful situations. Ability to provide professional support in a call center and front desk setting. Strong team-player.



Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a call center or customer service setting.



Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
