Job Description
Perform special duties as assigned. Plan, execute and continually review incident and emergency management operations. Assist residency management and Regional Incident Coordinator with Area and Regional Management committees. Coordinate and cooperate with emergency service and incident management organizations at local, regional, state and multi state levels. Assist in the preparation of incident and emergency response plans and conduct necessary training.  Responsible for traffic management planning for emergency operations and special events. Incident Management Coordinator will also represent the region incident management program at various conferences, meetings, and workshops.


How you will contribute:
  • Emergency Operations: Coordinate with and assist Transportation Operations Managers with operations during emergency events. Interpret events and make sound decisions during emergency situations and or for time sensitive situations.
  • Perform duties as assigned.: Perform duties, tasks, activities and/or projects as assigned.
  • Traffic Operations : Ability to effectively problem solve and apply critical thinking to traffic operations incidents.
  • Transportation Conditions: Ability to report to incident scenes with exposure to live traffic conditions i.e., noise, fumes, dust, gases, chemicals etc. and encounter unexpected safety hazards.


  • What will make you successful:
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. 
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others, building consensus and promoting open communications.
  • Knowledge of contract language and specifications. 

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to apply National Incident Management principles and practices to a variety of events.  
  • Ability to plan and schedule 24-hour public service operations.  
  • Knowledge of contract language and specification.
  • Knowledge of public safety operations, emergency response and coordination relating to highway incidents. 
  • Valid driver’s license. 

  • Additional Considerations:
  • A combination of training, experience, or education in Emergency Operations, Incident Management, Traffic Management, Public Safety, Communications, or related field desired.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations and procedures related to incident management.
  • Knowledge of transportation incident and special events.
